Merkel Enters G-20 Scorning Market ‘Evil,’ Leaves Obama Fan

By Tony Czuczka

April 2 (Bloomberg) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel came into a meeting of world leaders speaking of “evil” in Anglo- Saxon financial markets and a “disaster” for the economy. She left praising President Barack Obama.

As heads of the Group of 20 nations gathered in London yesterday, Merkel sparred with Obama for prioritizing government spending over a regulatory crackdown on banks as a way to revive the world economy. Today, she said Obama helped achieve a “very good” result by cooperating with other nations.

“The American president was especially concerned that we get good results,” she told reporters after the meeting. “He was involved in solutions to very specific problems. It was a very good, very cooperative and result-oriented cooperation.”

Merkel, who heads Europe’s largest economy, said she and Obama agreed to disagree about U.S. calls for other nations to spend more to boost the economy. Merkel has pushed through two stimulus packages since late last year and says that’s enough for now.

Merkel, 54, and Obama, 47, shared a moment of public camaraderie at the summit when Obama put his arm around the German leader and exchanged words that left both of them smiling after they posed for an official photo with the other leaders.

“We all worked very well together,” she said after 19 advanced and emerging countries plus the European Union agreed on a plan to strengthen financial supervision and avoid a repeat of the global recession set off by a collapse of credit markets.

Isn't it wondeful to have a leader who can actually work with other people? Just imagine what would have happened if dip shit bush and cheney were handeling this problem. Mr. Obama is really going to be a great president. I am sure of it, and I am NEVER wrong about these things.
