Dodd down 16 points in poll - Needs to retire
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/04/02/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry4914301.shtml

He needs to step aside. While this may be a low water mark as Democratic leaders hope, I am doubtful it will improve enough to turn into a Dodd win. He is too tarnished by the bailout situation and more.

It's time for new blood from Connecticut because otherwise Connecticut will deliver red blood rather than blue blood. New blood, Blue blood.

1. As we should have learned in 2004, 2008, etc....
early polls mean very little.

I suspect that he may be on his way out, but expecting him to retire based on an early poll might be a bit misguided.

2. As written in the OP, the premise is not the poll alone. It's his weak potential strength n/t

5. How about a primary candidate like Ned Lamont?
Lamont himself might not do as well this time around, with the Iraq war off the front burner by then (we trust!), but there must be someone there who could run as sort of a "financial Lamont".

6. Is that what they are preaching at your Liberty Restoration meetings?
That Barney Franks needs to be in jail?

10. I have a profile and a user name
Both tell where I live.

As for Frank, this is DEMOCRATIC Underground. We generally support Democrats and don't rally for them to go to jail.

7. Sounds like your only interest is in replacing him.
I say he rides this out and wins reelection. I will not fall for this media Republican trick. Time is on our side.

8. This is worrisome
I don't want any more Republican Senators in the northeast. That's *our* territory!
