Huckabee: Voter Suppression is "The Lord's Work"
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7038

While out on the stump for VA's Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell, former Gov. Mike Huckabee made an hysterical joke to the laughing assembled crowd of Republicans, instructing them to "Do the lord's work" by not letting voters to the polls if they don't plan to vote for McDonnell.

HUCKABEE: You have two jobs. One - get all those people who are gonna vote for Bob out to the polls and vote. If they're not gonna vote for Bob, you have another job. Let the air out of their tires and do not let them out of their driveway on Election Day. Keep 'em home. Do the lord's work, my friend. I'm giving you an opportuninty...yes, do the right thing.

Of course, it was just a joke. Who in the Republican Party would ever do such a thing in this country?!

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: April 3, 2009

RICHMOND -- Former GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee exhorted Virginia Republicans to rally votes for their governor's race this fall. And if that doesn't work, well, flatten the Democrats' tires and keep 'em home, he joked.

The former Arkansas governor made the remark Monday at an event for presumptive GOP nominee Bob McDonnell in Tazewell County. The audience chuckled.

But former Democratic National Chairman Terry McAuliffe isn't laughing. In a media conference call yesterday, McAuliffe said denying people the right to vote is "not a laughing matter."

While campaigning for Republican Virginia gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee jokingly made reference to voter suppression. He told supporters that it's "their job" to keep McDonnell opponents from the polls: "Let the air our of their tires ... keep 'em home. Do the Lord's work."

(end snips)

Comedians, every rethug is a comedian, right? /sarcasm off.

4. Limbaugh better watch his fat ass.
Huckabee came up through Radio and he's better at it than Rush. The Huck could trade one-liners with Toad Boy any old time and bat at least .666.

Also, ABC Radio is pushing Huckabee as heir to Paul Harvey. He's got two five minute casts a day and you know there are negotiations for that 15 minutes at noon going on. Granted, Limbaugh has uninterrupted hours per day but if the dittoheads give Huckabee a listen, I think they'll like him. They'll think that doing the Lord's Work by letting the air out of Libruls' tires (tars) is some of the funniest shit they ever heard. And they'll be able to VOTE for Huckabee.

Now, if there's anything on which Mike Huckabee and I agree politically, I've not yet found it. But I do know a bit about Radio. So does The Huck. He can hang and I give props to his chops.

16. Folks one-upped the tires bit in Toronto in our last general election
Some fuckers were going around cutting brake lines if people had Liberal signs in front of their houses.

It's starting to feel like keeping people from voting By Any Means Necessary(tm) is becoming popular rather than merely something that happens. And it's spreading. Ugh.
