MAYBE DoJ SHOULD RE-TRY STEVENS!

Palin Jumps On Begich-Should-Resign Bandwagon

By Zachary Roth - April 3, 2009, 9:00AM
Looks like Sarah Palin agrees with the Alaska GOP:

The Anchorage Daily News reports:
Gov. Sarah Palin and the head of the Alaska Republican Party said Thursday that Sen. Mark Begich should give his Senate seat up to a special election now that prosecutors have abandoned their case against Ted Stevens. "Alaskans deserve to have a fair election not tainted by some announcement that one of the candidates was convicted fairly of seven felonies, when in fact it wasn't a fair conviction," Palin said in a Thursday interview with the Daily News.
Yesterday, Alaska GOP chair Randy Ruedrich called for Sen. Mark Begich to step down, and for a special election to be called, in light of the Justice Department's decision to drop the charges against Ted Stevens, who Begich, a Democrat, narrowly beat last fall in the U.S. Senate race.

Begich responded with a statement saying he'd be sticking around, thank you very much.

5. Shouldn't she be blaming this on the Bush DOJ?
After all, they are the ones that botched the case, right?

6. So she's saying Alaskans would want a man with seven
felony convictions as their senator. Particularly since the convictions pretty much address huge abuses of his office as senator? I guess Palin's waiting for OJ to find the real killers too.

7. Wasn't Stevens still on the ballot in November?
Alaskans could have voted for him regardless.

Tell me if I am wrong.

9. Suck Farah!
She's going to have enough problems with her own re-election in 2010. I'd think she'd start worrying about that, rather and worrying about a past election.

11. If election laws allowed 'do-overs', voters would be spending all
their time 'going to the polls'.
