I would like to be able to UN-Recommend some threads
I have seen too many BS (in my opinion) threads that are just clogging up the Greatest page.

If we could un-recommend a thread, then we could express disapproval without getting into an argument.

Just a thought.

1. They ran a trial of that feature a few months ago. I think that it may
come back with the kinks worked out. But, I am not sure when.

2. I think they gave up on it.
Which is really sad, because it's really needed.

3. It just neede to be tweaked, but
I think it would be great to have. There is a new generation of concern trolls that have come on board the past month or so. If the are just clever enough to not get banned, voted them down would be a good option.

4. They added too many bells and whistles.
All they needed to do was to add an "unrecommend" (or "let it sink" or whatever) feature.

9. I strongly disagree. Your "opinion" is just that.

I see a LOT of great threads that have been recommended to greatest here on DU and very rarely one that is "BS".

That is MY opinion.

I object to down-voting threads because voting is anonymous and open to any member of DU (iow, including freeper trolls). This is a diverse community -- we don't all agree about what is or isn't important, FYI. There are some here who have prejudices against certain topics who would deliberately vote them down simply because of the subject matter, regardless of how relevant, factual or well written.

If you don't like a thread, don't rec it. If you find it particularly bothersome, use the hide thread feature.

10. Your argument cuts both ways
Freeper trolls can recommend crap too. I would like to un-recommend things that reflect their mind-set.
