1. I'm feeling a little more relaxed...
It took a while before I stopped cringing at the sound of "The President." I've stopped the double take when I hear President Obama now...

6. There are several things we stand in unity on.
a few to snark back and forth with, but yes, indeed.
:toast: Makes me smile to hear those words indeed. It has been a long hard decade.

8. and yet, many in our "media" seem to have stripped him of even his (former) senatorial status

and insist on "Mr. Obama".. Occasionally, it's bound to happen, but I keep hearing "Mr", where "president" should be used..

I remember when BC was president, and he was often referred to as "Clinton"...no president, no mr..

Some in the media can be quite insidious

10. Journalistic style dictates
that the President is referred to as "President X" for the first mention, and "Mr. X" for subsequent mentions. Bush received the same treatment, as did Clinton. And just like Bush and Clinton, or Reagan, or even Lincoln and Washington, people often refer to Presidents by simply their last names.

11. DU's Senator calls it the Euphemedia, which is apt
Edited on Fri Apr-03-09 03:09 PM by omega minimo
Yes, the title and also weird editing stuff. Stories segued or subtle comments to suggest......... something, nothing? Weird.

A recent "bring the mountain to Mohammed" comment while covering his town hall meeting rang odd....
