1. Will see how this progresses.
Two states in one day understanding that none of us have rights until we all have rights.

2. I keep hoping NM will soon join the rest
but we'll probably have to wait for conservatives to stop screeching about our having gotten rid of the death penalty first.

One step toward civilization at a time is all they can handle.

3. Paging Las Vegas...come in, Vegas....
Worried that your local economy might actually slump? Read the tea leaves, legalize gay marriage, and tell California what it can do with Proposition 8.

6. this is not, alas, the best of news.
This was the third and final reading of the bill. Yesterday the vote was 95-52. No real difference today. The VT Senate passed it last week 26-4. That is veto proof. This is not. The Governor has said he'll veto.

7. The article made it sound like they were going to bring it up yet again.
After the Gov.'s veto.

Not true?

11. Was Vermont the state whose governor said he'd veto?
Or am I thinking another one?

13. No, you're thinking of Jim Douglas, governor of VT
And the truly disgusting thing about his veto is that both VT houses voted by huge margins for marriage equality- it's just that in the House we're a handful short of the 2/3 needed for overriding the asshole's veto.
