Giants cut Plaxico "Ouch Sh*t I just shot my leg" Burress

The Giants - who spent the last four months standing by troubled Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress - dumped him Friday.

The team released him just three days after he appeared in a Manhattan court for a hearing on gun charges from the Nov. 29 incident in which he shot himself in the thigh at the Latin Quarter nightclub.

"I am an optimist, and I believe most situations can be worked out," Giants GM Jerry Reese said in a statement.

"We hung in there as long as we could in hopes that there could be a resolution to this situation other than the decision we made today to release Plaxico. It wasn't to be, so now we have to move on."

after which, he ply his wares to any team that might have him.
