Sarah Palin Lashes Out at Levi Johnston for Sex Talk on Tyra
Edited on Fri Apr-03-09 08:48 PM by Cash_thatswhatiwant

Levi Johnston is in big trouble at the Sarah Palin household.

After taking about sex on The Tyra Banks Show, Johnston – the 18-year-old father of Bristol Palin's baby – was hit with a blistering response from Bristol's mother, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," says the statement from the Palin family rep.

"Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence," the statement continues. "It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child."

The statement ends, saying, "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

In the show airing April 6, Johnston tells Tyra Banks that he believes Sarah Palin knew he and Bristol, 18, were having sex when they lived under her roof. "I'm pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart," Johnston says.

The couple, who were high school sweethearts, planned to wed after graduating – but ended up splitting earlier this year. At the time, Johnston told Good Morning America that he needed to mature before getting married.

Family Member Arrested
In other Palin family troubles, the half sister of Palin's husband Todd was accused of breaking into the same Wasilla, Alaska, house twice to steal money, the Associated Press reports. Diana Palin, 35, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespass and theft stemming from two break-ins this week.

7. I come from a "Roseanne" type family.
We are just people trying to get through this life the best we can without hurting anyone. My own family has had the outer appearance of more class than the Conner family. But just like them we are on that hump between lower class and lower middle class. We are honest, we work our asses off, we will do anything for anyone that we can, even to give you the food off our own plate if need be. Look at how many strays the Connors took in. My family took in a whole other family.

If Sarah Palin wasn't ambitious beyond her intelligence and used by the RW power brokers to keep us all busy with silly gossip then her family too would just be another trying to get through life the best they can. Sarah Palin is NOT your enemy. She's not smart enough to do you any harm. The enemy is the RW power brokers who will use any idiot they can find as a "front man".

19. That seems like - no wait... That IS a gross exaggeration.
Earlier on Roland Martin I saw some Jackmunch exclaim that President Obama had "Plead guilty to the charges leveled by Osama Bin Laden in his justification of 9/11." because he had the audacity to say America has been a bit arrogant now and then.

Hyperbolic comment and intellectual dishonesty are unwelcome and unhelpful on either side of the fence.

21. She's not smart enough to reach that level on her own.
On her own, she would never have earned a national stage. On her own, she's not smart enough to figure out who the good guys and bad guys are (obviously) let alone name someone. No, all that, all of it, was supplied by the RW power brokers. If not for them, she'd never be more than a semi pretty small town mayor with some really ugly ass clothes and a whole house full of pregnant women.

I do not like Sarah Palin, please don't misunderstand. I dislike her because she is willing to be dishonest for ambition. She's the very kind of woman who will sleep her way to the top and then be outraged when people snicker behind the copy machine. But slamming her for being "Jerry Springer", "trailer park" "Roseanne Conner" "rednecky" or whatever slam is befitting of lower class whites in general who just don't measure up is unnecessary IMHO.

Second:

"But slamming her for being "Jerry Springer", "trailer park" "Roseanne Conner" "rednecky" or whatever slam is befitting of lower class whites in general who just don't measure up is unnecessary IMHO."

Where did I do that? I merely said that I have more respect for the family on Roseanne than I do for Sarah.

25. Sarah sure does enjoy speaking for Bristol.
Reminds me of the time Sarah unexpectedly showed up during an interview Bristol was doing. Of course, Sarah had to butt in even though nobody was there to interview her.

Notice that after Sarah showed up the rest of the interview was focused on what Sarah thinks. She wouldn't have it any other way:

VAN SUSTEREN: Hello, Governor.

SARAH PALIN: How are you?

VAN SUSTEREN: Nice to see you, Governor.

(CROSSTALK)

SARAH PALIN: ... You're up here.

VAN SUSTEREN: I wasn't expecting you.

SARAH PALIN: We were down on the river, had to come up just for a second, wanted to say hi and we'll run you down to the river. And I think some of your folks are going to meet us down there, too.

VAN SUSTEREN: OK. We weren't expecting you because Bristol -- she told me that she had just sort of sprung the interview on you.

SARAH PALIN: Yes!

VAN SUSTEREN: And this is her idea about -- talking about the big picture of teen pregnancy.

SARAH PALIN: Yes. Yes. And I'm proud of her, too, wanting to take on an advocacy role and, you know, just let other girls know that this is - - it's not the most ideal situation, but certainly, make the most of it. And Bristol is a strong and bold young woman and she is an amazing mom. And this little baby is very lucky to have her as a mama. He's going to be just fine. We're very proud of Bristol.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, you know, but it's -- I mean, you look at this, and it's joy in this family. You know, and some families aren't...

SARAH PALIN: Oh, yes.

VAN SUSTEREN: You know, some families don't have the broad family support. I mean, she's got the brothers and the sisters and the parents and the grandparents.

SARAH PALIN: We have five (ph) generations helping right now. And Bristol -- maybe she got to talk to you a little bit about that, that we have a very large network of family, so a lot of support. And Bristol's in -- maybe she's a bit of an anomaly in this situation, in that she has a lot of support. She has it perhaps easier, if you will, than other young mothers. But many, many, many young parents have been successful in raising their children and have raised healthy, happy, contributing members of our society.

Bristol will -- and Levi -- they will be parents like that. We're real proud of them.

VAN SUSTEREN: Nonetheless, a surprise to you and the "first dude."

SARAH PALIN: Yes! Yes!

VAN SUSTEREN: You're grandparents at an early -- at a young age yourselves.

SARAH PALIN: I'm still getting used to having a -- you know, my last child, Trig, much less that, you know, knowing that we would have another little bundle of joy in our midst. So yes, it was a surprise. It was a shock.

VAN SUSTEREN: Did you give her hell or were you -- at first? I mean, what...

SARAH PALIN: Yes, I kind of did. I mean, I was...

29. I feel sorry for Levi--
http://www.komonews.com/news/national/42452582.html

<snip>

In an interview to air Monday with talk show host Tyra Banks, Johnston, 19, said he and 18-year-old Bristol don't always get along.

"Some days we can have regular conversations without fighting," Johnston said. "Most of the times, I don't know what's wrong with her. She's in a pretty bad mood, she's short, she doesn't want me around, I don't think. She says that I can come see the baby and that kind of thing, but won't let me take him anywhere."

<snip>

Johnston told Banks he went to the convention at Bristol's request, but he wasn't thrilled to attend it. "I felt out of place," he said.

<more>

++++++++++++++

I'm not sure why the Palins allowed Levi to live with them for a while. I would not have allowed the b.f. to live in during high school. Having a big heart has nothing to do with the decision.

All of this boils down to bad adult decision making--on the part of both sets of parents.

She's a fucking governor and former vice presidential candidate and she's going to engage in this sort of back and forth in the media with an 18 year old kid? What's worse - a kid that's going to be in her life to at least some extent through a shared relationship with an infant for the rest of HER life. Doesn't she know when to shut the fuck up and leave well enough alone? She can't make a public statement to counter everything everyone who knows her ever fucking says about her.

Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 03:30 PM by rainbow4321
Interesting comment over at Mudflats on the timeline of the birth. Palin clan said it was Dec 27th..really, really close to the end of the timeline window that they had set up for themselves for it to be impossible for Bristol to have given birth to both babies.

Levi says in the interview that he moved into the Palin house a few weeks BEFORE the baby was born. OK. But factoring in that he had to quit his North Slope job the first week of JANUARY means that he would have been up at the NORTH SLOPE still in December..which is when the birth was supposed to happen. The North Slope job is not exactly a 9 to five, drive home after work...the workers live up there.
Did he let slip that the baby really was born in January? After the timeline window that Palin desperately needed to have people believe???
Funny how back in November there were people on the 'Net saying "betcha the baby isn't really due til January and we won't even lay eyes on the kid til Feb. 2009".
Ding, ding, ding..when do get to see the baby? On GVS' show in February.

Think you can remember to **register to vote** this time, Levi??

Levi Johnston says ex-fiance Bristol Palin, daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, allows him to visit their 3-month-old son but won’t let him take the baby out.

In an interview to air Monday with talk show host Tyra Banks, Johnston, 19, said he and 18-year-old Bristol don’t always get along.

Asked whom he’d vote for in 2012 if the choice were President Barack Obama or the Alaska governor, he said: “I still think I’m going to have to vote for Sarah Palin.”

Bristol made a mistake; Levi is a capital-L Loser milking his 15 min off their notoriety, and as a parent she's gone into full-bore attack mode to protect her daughter.

Given the same circumstances, I'd probably do the same thing.

50. actually feel sorry for bristol and a bit for levi
at least britney spears made a bunch of money before the tabloids turned on her.
(the old cry all the way to the bank thing)

And mostly because i have a couple of kids in that general age range.

I thank my lucky stars that when they do something stupid (and they have, and they will)
there is no tv camera to capture it all for the cable news.

49. Pot, meet Kettle.
Seems to me those families are probably already related.
