I really hope President Obama is starting to think about gun control

7. The only way that "gun control" would have prevented those shootings

is if Obama were to outright ban and confiscate every gun in the country, which is about as politically reasonable, Constitutionally sound, and realistically possible as the right-wing fantasy of scooping up everyone not born in America and returning them to their countries of origin.

If everyone demanded the Democrats in power enforce gun registration and ban all guns except

10. Seems to me that it will work in exactly

the opposite direction. If people fear that they might be confronted with some nut in a public place intent on killing as many people as possible before the police can respond, they will be a lot less likely to advocate for gun control and a lot more likely to arm themselves with more powerful weapons.

I am for a TOTAL ban on guns but it would be political suicide now.
