Why does Senator Burr hate veterans?
Edited on Sat Apr-04-09 12:42 PM by pscot
Burr is a republicon from North Carolina. He has put a hold on Major Tammy Duckworth's appointment to the V.A. Duckworth lost both legs and part of an arm in Iraq in 2004, when the chopper she was flying was hit by a rocket propelled grenade. Burr, who seems to think she's the wrong kind or war hero, says he has a lot of questions about Major Duckworth's nomination.

Even if he's not your senator, he needs to know people ae paying attention. If you would like to let Senator Burr know how you feel about this here's a link

If you need inspiration, here's what I sent him

In the army we had a word for what senator Burr is doing to Tammy Duckworth. That word was chickenshit. He needs to grow up and knock off the chickenshit games he is playing with Ms Duckworth's nomination What he's doing is a slap at all veterans. We will remember it.

3. Dear Senator Burr,
Tammy Duckworth would be an excellent assistant secretary at the Veterans Affairs Department. Your delay of her nomination is wrong in every possible sense. She is a brilliant decorated war veteran who was honorably wounded in military service of her country. By contrast, reviewing your biography reveals that maybe it is you who is questionably qualified for your current office and responsibilities.

4. Wrong Kind of War Hero ?????
The only kind of war hero more deserving than Maj. Duckworth is KIA with a posthoumus MOH and they would have a problem making any meetings. Sen Burr's logic is classic FUBAR.

6. The Republicans love the military, unless...
they are liberals. Then of course, they hate them and attempt to disparage them by all means necessary. Fucking fuckheads.

it wasn't as nice as yours. I told him I'd be sending money to his opponent as I felt he was an absolute disgrace to the office he holds. What a piece of shit. I left that last sentence out and attempted to be civil enough to get my point across--which is, in essence, that he is opposing someone with an exemplary record of service to this country and this nation's veterans. Someone more than qualified to hold the post she's been appointed to, and who gave her limbs for her county, thus, she deserves better than to be blocked without even a benefit of an explanation as to why, and worse, simply to obstruct President Obama's agenda.
