Thoughts on Violence - A

Two news stories on tonight's evening nooz got me thinking about violence. Not to do it, but simply to consider the impact it has or doesn't have on us, our lives, and our world.

This first thread is about cops being killed in the line of duty.

I side, generally with the cops and with a law abiding, orderly world. I think cops are pretty brave to even go out there day after day and risk facing a nut like that young man in Pittsburgh. One of the cops who died because of his actions was actually off duty, heard the radio call, and went to help.

San Francisco. Binghampton. Other cities.

I think more than one police department will rewrite some policies in ways that are intended to protect their officers. I understand that. They pretty much have to.

I also know the ACLU has a role .... to protect us.

I wish we didn't have tho worry about any of this.

But we do.

When times get tough people get hungry, desperate, and erratic.

But I'm sure W's safe in his gated community with lifetime secret service.

2. I fear an epidemic of this sort of insanity

I wish we were like the Swiss as a society about guns.

There is so much media and ideological driven stupidity in the USA.

The GWB years and current economy and wars are gasoline to psychopaths of two sorts: predatory and delusional.
