Living in a 5 o'Clock world
Read an article today that shows where Europe works 30 hours a week and takes 8 weeks vacation. (more hours worked in the U.S. does not seem translate into improved productivity)

Could it be.. that Corporations... are working us like a 'Rented Mule'...?

We work, we slave... We hope for a glimpse of happiness.. So why are we doing this? Where is the Up-Side? Trading my time for the pay I get.....

1. Do you have a link to the article?
That sounds like we should do that here.

3. Work less work all - one way to lower unemployment is to cap hours - ie forcing part time employment

like those in companies that are taking cuts in hours and consequently pay to keep coworkers employed

4. I've always said that the work day should be reduced to 6 hrs.
It would open up a 4th shift and allow the opportunity for more people to work.

5. I don't know how productivity is over there, but here it's off the charts.
And yet wages for the people who are 100% responsible for it -- us, the poor working stiffs -- have declined.

Guess who pockets all that extra profit? (Hint: it's not us!!!)

We need a revolution I tell ya!
