Cardinal George of Chicago has a soft spot for pedophile priests – and is not embarrassed by letting them stay in his mansion or on the job, but he is, in brazen hypocrisy, embarrassed that the President of the United States will be the Notre Dame commencement speaker.

Now that’s the kind of thing that not only gives religious self-righteousness a bad name, it is a frightening disregard of the impact of priests who sexually abuse children.

1. That is what gets me about the Catholic church hierarchy, they hate abortion but apparently

spent years condoning child abuse from within there ranks. Paying hush money, moving pedophile priests from one parish to another. They are hypocrites.

I don't understand how anyone can justify it. The RCC has a bunch of old, single men who embrace homophobia and anti women doctrines, but also embrace the small army of pedophiles that exist within their organization. And that's after centuries of supporting fascism throughout the world.

I understand that many church members are decent, but the RCC leadership is vile.
