Coming out blog
Stories about coming out.

My sister in law came out at Thanksgiving dinner. She couldn't do it herself so my wife was drafted into service. Everybody took it in stride, except for the Fundie sister. She couldn't give unconditional love, only conditional love (Christian Love).

My sister in law's orientation was the worst kept secret in the family, but nobody talked about it. The only person who didn't figure it out was the Fundie. There's other "secrets" in the family, but because of the reaction of the fundie sister, it is not safe to be honest and open around her.

Read these stories, and maybe you have a story.

1. It's odd how that works.
Families allow one Fundie to hold them hostage. In my family, it is my mother.

I wish we could end that.

2. The Fundie is the oldest sister. She was the "mother" for everyone else.
Her husband is very religious, but he is a live and let live kind of guy, a Democrat.

4. It's horrible that we have to keep secrets.

5. I'm happy for your sister in law
However, I'm a christian and at my church this Sunday the Pastor applauded the decision of the Iowa Supreme Court.

6. Terrific. It's time the churches returned to teaching love and forgiveness.
