Hmm does google have a bias?
I have google as homepage. If I use google.be, nothing happens while typing a search term, except showing past search terms of mine.

If I use google.com, I get assistance while typing, suggestions of search terms including what I just typed are listed, including the number of hits for that specific term.
Now, are those suggestions listed in alfabetical order? Nope. Are they listed in order of number of hits? Nope.

When I went looking for "history of stuff", as I type, I get a list of suggestions,

Do it yourself and check the list at "history of", "history of s" and history of st"
Only for this last search, history of stuff is listed in the suggestions, at the bottom.
BUT IS HAS 161 million hits?! by far dwarfing the other listed terms, including those at "history of".
I'm really curious what the order in the suggested terms is based on.

:tinfoilhat:

This all because of digging for my vegetable garden and noticing how much bits of plastic bags etc turn up as you dig. They don't decompose easily it seems...reminded me of a DU post about the history of stuff -
