2. It's spring break. Movie attendance always goes up during
school breaks.

3. I watched a couple of hours of HULU on the laptop.....
Stayed on budget....:)

The guilt being laid at the middle class' feet--"buy or the economy dives deeper, subscribe to newspapers or they are gone (I do), eat out, or your community will become a ghost town".... only makes me want to burrow in, further.

4. I find watching movies in a theater a very painful experience
The visual effects hurt my eyes and the sound is always way too loud. Last time I went to a movie, I spent the whole time with my eyes clamped shut and my fingers in my ears, and still wound up with a bad headache. I'd gone with a group of people to a premiere of a film my husband really wanted to see. We were stuck in the middle of a long row and I was trapped. That was several years ago, and I don't intend on repeating the experience again.

7. If the volume is too high, complain to the manager.
They WILL crank it down, but only if someone says something about it.

I've had people coming out of the theater at the end of the movie saying "it was SO loud" or "it was WAY out of focus" - and they just suffered through it, when it would have been corrected in a matter of seconds.

14. I would have
except it was a sold out MOB of people, and I was with a group that thought the volume was fine.

5. I used to really love movies.
for some reason, the experience is cheapened for me now. I go to the movies about once a year, and don't really follow the actors, directors, and what's out there at all anymore.

6. Other -
I went to the movies, but they didn't get any of my money because I'm an employee and get in for free. (Except for the beer I paid for.)

And I thought that Monsters v Aliens was a lot of fun.

8. i did the double-feature thing at the local multiplex.
monsters vs. aliens and fast and furious...i didn't have time to sit in on a third flick tho'.

both films were fun to watch, but also a bit disappointing...i thought that they had settled the writer's strike- but you wou7ldn't know it from either of these.

i'd have to say that monsters was the bigger disappointment- the 3-d is fun- but the writing/dialogue/jokes were a lot flatter than i had hoped and expected.

fast and furious- it is what it is. if you go expecting oscar-caliber work, you're at the wrong movie...if you go expecting a decent ride- you'll get it.

9. Other - -
It's impossible to make a blanket judgement of "the movies".

Just as it is impossible to make a blanket judgement of shoes or cookies or left-handed people.

10. I don't know what you mean by "deserve to have my money."
They deserve to have whatever they charge for admission if my interest in a movie is greater than my desire to save the amount of money they are charging for admission. That was not the case last weekend, but regardless that is the case about five or six times per year, and in those situations they deserve to have my money.

12. Other: The sun came out, here in Oregon.
Nobody in Oregon spends time indoors when the sun finally comes out.
