Do the Progressives Have Their Own Michele Bachmann?
Do we have our own version of Ann Coulter? Sarah Palin?

Whenever I read the words ascribed to any of the above, my skin crawls and my temper rages.

But then I started wondering: is there anyone out there espousing a progressive agenda that causes the freepers to climb the walls? Do we have anyone on our side that is as incendiary and uninformed presumably speaking for us?

26. Prison Planet isn't progressive..
Some left-wingers are tempted to consider anti-Bush, anti-establishment right-wingers as on our side - but they aren't.

3. Well in which way, by telling the truth or by being a lunatic
There are lunatics on the left.... but I think they bother other people on the left the most.

I imagine conservatives get more angry about people they feel threaten them. So in that case someone like Thom Hartmann would be far more infuriating than someone like..... I dunno...

Gawd, I can remember some of his speeches.

6. The person who used to "cause freepers to climb walls" used to be Hillary
But when Fox (and most of the MSM) tried to halt Obama's nomination by singing her praises that counter brainwashing took hold and she no longer is the GOP BoogieWoman to the same extent she once was.

7. No, we really don't.
We are part of the reality based community. That's why Michelle should be encouraged. Every time she opens her mouth, the Republican Party loses a little more credibility.

22. Radical rightwingers' reactions don't count.
To them, anybody to the left of Augusto Pinochet is a crazed Maoist.

In YOUR opinion, does any of the persons you cited approach the level of toxicity of the RWers mentioned in the OP?

plus we never would have picked someone as liberal as Palin is conservative.

19. Cynthia McKinney and Ted Rall
Both are nasty and seem to be a few quahogs short of a clambake. They would fall into the Coulter category.

20. There are many sides to this question
Do we have anyone who is as batshit crazy as those three - I'm sure there are freepers who think so but I doubt many of us do - even the fringe have at least a toe in our reality.

"Do we have anyone on our side that is as incendiary and uninformed presumably speaking for us?"

No - even at their worst, the loudest progressive advocates are very informed and anyone that incendiary on the left has been effectively silenced.

"is there anyone out there espousing a progressive agenda that causes the freepers to climb the walls?"

Hell, yes. Most of them have already been mentioned somewhere above (Michael Moore, Keith O., Dennis Kucinich, Hillary, Pelosi, Boxer, Bill Clinton, Rosie O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow, Jane Fonda - and not just in the 60's - and others).

23. Rachel Maddow?
She is incredibly civil especially with republican guests. I'm not a republican but I don't see how she would invoke the same type of rage whenever we hear a Hannity, O'reilly, or a Bachmann speak.

25. Not quite to that degree...
but to some extent George Galloway. I know that Americans who know him only for his slapdown of Coleman will feel differently; but many Brits on the left feel that he is a bit of a buffoon and has said some fairly stupid things.
