June 5, 1968 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles...

I wonder if we really understand the sea change that happened that night to this country and to the world. Or maybe I loved him so much that I exaggerate the importance, but I think something broke that night and we have yet to fix it. I liked JFK, but RFK was the real visionary.

Here is a link to the end of the movie, 'Bobby' by Emilio Estevez that I think is important.

1. That was the killing that *really* finished off America...
...we might've recovered from the earlier ones, had he gone on to become President in '68.

Didn't Cheney first work in the Nixon administration?

We've been paying for that night ever since...

2. I liked JFK and didn't like Bobby but I can remember the horror
of putting on my radio early morning on the East Coast and hearing the news.

A dreadful day.

According to some accounts, Bobby's last words were "Is everybody alright?"

4. My brother worked for him and drove a funeral car. He said way
back then that the America we knew and cherished had died with Bobby. I still have the tear stained letter he sent home.

5. Lots of hearts broken that night . . ..
What I don't understand is show America didn't rise up after that --

out in the streets, I mean!!!

When will America acknowledge the political violence which has delivered the

right wing to power?

Are we all waiting to hear this from the TV . . . . ?????

6. We do. Prevention of sea change happened that night.
Victory in the primary that night was the turning moment, and ewe expected easy sailing to the White House.
We called from state HQ to National HQ, and everyone was celebratory about the likely possibility of going all the way.

10. It was the moment I moved from childhood to young adulthood.
I remember turning on the radio, then calling home in tears."why are they killing all the good guys" I was no longer a child.
