The local tv station and newspaper haven't posted news about this yet, so I don't have a link. They did a little story about it on the news this morning and I thought I'd share. My Congressman, Gene Taylor (D-MS) had a town hall last night and a bunch of people showed up wearing green "We surround them" t-shirts. It looked like they made up about one-quarter to one-third of the crowd. Some of them started to get vocal about federal spending. Taylor wasn't having it. He told them that MS gets more than anyone and when they still wouldn't shut up, he said, "Who paid for the Biloxi bridge? Who paid for the Bay St. Louis bridge?" Both bridges were destroyed by Katrina. That shut them up. It was really funny to see. In fact, we're still spending Katrina money down here -- that's the only reason the economy isn't as bad here as it is in much of the rest of the country.
