Waylon Jennings and Kristofferson wrote and sang songs that reflected reason and truth. They were intelligent people who were true artists.

of the words that were said BY Kris you have to wonder if he could make them up.

"You ever worn your country's uniform?" "What?" "Don't 'What me boy!You heard the question. You just don't like the answer.".."I asked have you ever served your country? the answer is no, you have not. Have you ever killed a another man? Huh? Have you ever taken another man's life and then cashed the check your country gave you for doing it? No, you have NOT. So shut the FUCK up! You don't know what the hell you're talking about"

Sure sounds like a real encounter to me and SOUNDS like Kristofferson.

Normally I don't care about the soul of the artist, but this guy's soul is in his music and it's ugly.

Fat ass hayseed, should be grateful for free publicity instead of acting all victimy. Doesn't everyone feel sorry for him now? What was he gonna do, peel off a love handle and beat Ethan Hawke with it? The aftermath doesn't add up.

6. Kristofferson was an Army helicopter pilot and an Airborne Ranger ..

In 1960, Kristofferson graduated with a BPhil in English literature and married an old girlfriend, Fran Beer. Kristofferson ultimately joined the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of captain. He became a helicopter pilot after receiving flight training at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He also completed Ranger School. During the early 1960s, he was deployed to West Germany as a member of the 8th Infantry Division. It was during this time that he resumed his music career and formed a band. In 1965, when his tour of duty ended, Kristofferson was offered a position as a professor of English Literature at West Point. Instead, he decided to leave the Army and pursue songwriting professionally.

Kris Kristofferson eclipses the dim-witted Toby Keith on so many planes that I don't know where to begin. Talent, intellect, athletics (rugby, football, boxing, track & field), and military service are the first that come to mind. My guess is that former boxer Kristofferson could whip Keith's ass if he were prone to that, but Kris would probably just settle on quipping Keith's dumb ass.

I have, however, known for a long time that TK is a pompous ass. A couple of years ago while driving through Tennessee I listened in amazement to a country music station as they invited listeners to call in and share Toby Kieth stories - not very many of the people that called had anything nice to say about him. One woman got to meet him backstage after a show and said he was drunk and grabbed her ass, another caller had asked him to sign an autograph for her kids and he refused - really a class act.
