Sarah Palin's popularity still high
CBS) Sarah Palin insists she's been focusing on one thing -- governing Alaska -- since the presidential election.

But, observes Early Show national correspondent Hattie Kauffman, it's been hard to ignore the negative headlines swirling around her extended family and acquaintances in recent weeks.

Eyebrows were raised when Levi Johnston, the ex-fiancé of Palin's daughter, Bristol, and father of their son, Tripp, told Tyra Banks on Banks' talk show he's "pretty sure" the Alaska governor knew he and Bristol were having sex.

Johnston also admitted, after some prodding by Banks, that he and Bristol only practiced safe sex "most of the time."

4. The Republicans thought that'd translate to national popularity in '08.
Heh.

10. Alaska is 60% Republican
Not many Democrats think much of the lady and I really doubt she will get re-elected in 2010.

12. And you've probably noticed, WinterBlues,
Edited on Tue Apr-07-09 04:21 PM by Blue_In_AK
that she's starting to piss off the Republicans in the legislature, too. I don't think she'll get re-elected in 2010 either, if she even runs. I'm guessing that she'll probably launch her 2012 presidential campaign about then, and if the Republicans don't show any interest, she'll form a third party. Her rabid supporters are just nutty enough to try something like that.

Actually, according to the 2008 voter registration statistics, the party breakdown here is 15% Democrats, 25% Republicans, 53% undeclared or nonaffiliated, and the rest divided up Libertarians, AIP, and other political groups, Greens, etc. http://www.elections.alaska.gov/statistics/regbyprty6-3-08.html#state

18. It just seems like 60% to me and I live in a Liberal Haven.
Except for the Legislature and all their minions that is..

19. I know it seems that way,
but the registrations don't lie. I actually have some hope that these "independents" will truly be so next time around. Republicans haven't done anything good for Alaska since Jay Hammond, as far as I'm concerned. I'm so sick of Sarah I almost gag every time I see her picture.

16. She was at 80% before she was pushed into the spotlight
The fact that she's at 60% means Alaskans are waking up to what a nutjob she is.

5. IMO, Palin hit her peak on the convention floor in St. Paul, not that
it was an admirable event.

That was the evening she dismissed "community organizers" as having no real impact or actual duties.

One or two community organizers and volunteers, etc. out here in the real world beg to differ with the Governor's assessment of our contributions.

And one now-extremely famous community organizer beat the crap out of her and John McCain in November.

7. I don't believe for a minute that Palin's popularity is still 60%
especially after the boneheaded things she has done and continues to do within the past month. Anchorage Daily News comments are overwhelmingly running against her, to the point where TeamSarah, Conservatives4Palin and SarahPAC have rallied and are reporting abuse on every comment even remotely critical of the governor. Earlier this morning there were entire pages of comments flagged for abuse, but it looks like now the ADN has unflagged them after numerous complaints by many of us.

For a while, even this comment by me "Having read all the threads that have been hidden this morning for "abuse," it seems that SarahPAC, TeamSarah, and Conservatives4Palin are very busy trying to squelch the First Amendment rights of the rest of us. You people should be ashamed," was flagged by "someone" for being abusive.

This is all in response to this http://www.adn.com/news/government/legislature/story/750807.html , Sarah's continued game-playing on filling to Senate seat vacated by Juneau Democrat Kim Elton when he went to work for the Obama administration.

I can't freely express my opinion of Her Highness here at DU because of some people's sensitivities to certain words, but she is a royal rhymes with witch.

9. Alaskans shall collectively get what they deserve.
Sorry, liberal (and sane) Alaskans.

You're stuck with the crazy bitch (as Betty White called her).

Perhaps you should wake your statesmen up to the fact that Sarah P. is as corrupt, avaricious, and hypocritical as they come.

On something. Can't be meth, being on meth would make you want to kill someone like SP. One "you betcha" could throw someone right over the edge.
