Apparently pilot Adam Leon of Canada wanted to commit suicide by air force interceptor today...

It's a Cessna 172, it flies about 120 mph at best, it's not gonna be a problem for the Air Force to follow it - we've even got helicopters that fly faster than this.

A glider tow-pilot friend of mine (when I ran a glider-port south of Atlanta) used to ferry single engine airplanes from US factories (primarily Cessna in Wichita) to Europe and Israel. The Cessnas would be stripped, with a ferry fuel bladder in the cabin. The airplane would have a removable nav-package. The interior and customer-designated avionics would be installed at the final destination.

The ferry route would be, basically, US-Gander-Greenland-Iceland-Ireland and on to the delivery point. Almost all Victor airway covered. Obviously, summer flying only!
