Have You Seen A Lot Of Ads Of The Form "If You Lose Your Job, It's Free!" ?
The last few weeks, I've seen them popping up all over the teevee. The last two I can remember are The Men's Wearhouse (suits), and some Pontiac piece of crap (not free, but they'll make your payments for like 9 months if you lose your job).

I don't recall ever seeing such gimmicks.

Anybody see any others?

2. I think it started with Hyundai -
although I might be wrong about that.

Their pitch, which I found horrifying, was that 'if you can't make your payments, we'll take the car back with no blemish on your credit history.'

Just horrible. "So you're fucked. That's all right. OH, and now you have to give back the car."

It's been amended, and now the pitch is that "We'll make your payments for nine months while you look for a new job," or another way to make the payments.

I'm assuming this is some kind of insurance policy you buy when you buy the car, like mortgage insurance.

Ah, the auto companies aren't going to lose a cent, are they?

Jesus, one of those ads just came on. Saturn - 9 months - but they don't say a thing about what happens after 9 months.

5. I don't see what's wrong with it.
A lot of people are putting off car purchases because they're worried about job stability.

3. Pontiac
How do you know the pontiac is a piece of crap? Our american car company's have made plenty of blunders, but they are trying. They make good cars at a price as good as or better then the foreign cars are. Try reading consumer reports.

4. I've seen Hyundai and GM, but I think you have to qualify for their financing.
IOW, you have to have fantastic credit to qualify for the program.
