I find SC depressing, mainly because of the supporters of pricks like Barrett and DimWitt. At least in Dallas there was a hard-core liberal community. But what-the-hell? I'll be in my fire lookout in Oregon for almost six months, beginning in mid-May!

Most of our politicians are either wingnut republicans or moderate/conservative democrats. Evan Bayh is our democrat senator (the other is a republican, Luger) and of our 5 democratic reps, 3 are members of the blue dog coalition.

Least favorite - Mike Pence (aka my rep). IN-6. I have met the guy at town hall meetings and he is an OK person and very respectful when you disagree with him, but I disagree with 90% of what he stands for.

Most favorite - Andre Carson. IN-7. Second muslim in the house, member of the progressive caucus, GLBT caucus and black caucus.
