Maersk Cannot Confirm Status of Hijacked Ship
Source: Reuters

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Maersk Line President John Reinhart was unable to confirm on Wednesday that the hijacked Maersk Alabama container ship off the Somali coast was back under control of the U.S. crew.

"A lot of speculation is going on. I believe it is premature to comment on that," he told journalists on a conference call.

He said at about 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT) he received a cell phone call from the crew saying they were all safe.

1. "Where's the Navy?"
About 300 statute miles north and steaming in their direction.

2. Good.
I haven't been able to follow this all morning. I was hoping the Navy would get there soon, and put an end to this situation.

5. MSNBC just reported the pirates are holding the captain
and negotiations are under way for his return.

6. Did they say whether the captain is being held on the ship
or on one of the pirate's boats?
