CNBC giving it's all: Obama destroying Hawaii's Tourism Industry
Obama has asked that companies being bailed out by Tax Payer Dollars refrain from speding my tax payer dollars to fly their big wigs to Hawaii and Las Vegas for a multiple days, and as they end up being, a party where you hang out with other big wigs and talk business for a minute or two when you find time.

That is apparently outrageous that he would do so. Sure you need to market your company, but I think that most of these companies have had plenty of Free Marketing via the MS. Quit cheating and lying, get your company in the Black, then you can waste the shareholders money as usual. In the meantime, apologize to Hawaii and Las Vegas for hurting their economy because you are crooked. Send your bonus to their respective boards of Tourism.

1. This is local news hereabouts
http://www.starbulletin.com/news/20090403_Obama_urged_to_support_business_travel_to_isles.html

Citing an economic loss of $97.6 million to Hawaii this year since business travel came under federal scrutiny, Gov. Linda Lingle (R-Still Ticked The Other Female Offshore Repuke Governor Got Picked Instead -Ed.) has asked President Barack Obama to oppose any measure that unfairly restricts companies' ability to use conventions, meetings and incentive (CMI) travel as a legitimate business tool....

Lingle's letter, sent Tuesday and signed by other key politicians and members of Hawaii's visitor industry, provides the first account of the staggering losses sustained by the state since business groups began canceling Hawaii trips....

So far, Hawaii has lost $58.8 million in direct revenue; however, Lingle said the state's total impact is much higher and includes the elimination of some 694 full- and part-time jobs....

Business travel to Hawaii began falling last year as the recession hit and has stalled further since Obama and Congress asked companies that received emergency government lending to develop business travel guidelines. Now, Hawaii's government officials and visitor industry members fear that the state could be hurt further if Congress restricts travel for companies that are part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).

Maybe people will start coming to see Obama's boyhood home, which may become a national monument. Is it too early to start planning for a Presidential library (one with more than two books in it, that people would actually go to)?

2. Nonsense.. tourism is down ALL over and it's not the fault of big wigs not being able to go to HI
Its because average people can't afford to take vacations.

We have the same problem here in Florida, especially here in Orlando.

3. And the same with Vegas
I mean people used to say that it was recession-prrof, and that makes sense if it was catering to the wealthy and "professional gamblers", but when Vegas decided to become a family vacation destination, they opened themselves to be hit by recessions as hard as anyplace else.

5. Yeah, it's all Obama's fault!
Seriously, what's in the water cooler at these offices? Because these people are less coherent than the guy on the corner who sees little green men whenever his blood alcohol content drops below .25%
