Is ther a family murder/suicide or hostage situation every day now in the country?

Seems like everyday I turn on the news some father or mother is killing the spouse and kids and sometimes others. Reasons seem to vary somewhat, but the economy seems to be someplace in most every one.
This is so sad. So many innocents are being slaughtered.
And it seems like it is picking up steam.

1. It was pretty common when I was a kid in the 70s, too.

I think it just seems like it's increasing because the media can pile one story on top of another and make it seem like an avalanche.

I knew three families wiped out like that growing up. One with a sledgehammer, of all things.

what is currently the rage to report by the national media does not equal a crisis.
