The Powers-that-be controlling the republican flocks:
-Are ignorant and/or repugnant chickenhawks, who, while thinking the rich generally aren’t born on third base thinking they hit a triple, send poor, low-middle, and middle-class 18-20something year old’s (who can’t afford college and can’t find a good job cuz the repub’s sent them all to China) to get maimed and killed to support good ol’ war profiteers who bring us such good commercials on TV channels (heck, sometimes bring us those TV channels, right GE?), all in the name of a Christ who walked the earth 2000 years ago telling us to care for the poor and the maimed, mourn the dead, and proclaim to the rich and the war profiteers when asked of their heavenly odds: “You have your reward”.
-Wrap themselves in the flag and declare “support the troops” from their yellow ribbons on their 12 mpg SUV’s in a war against a country which never attacked us and which, just by sheer coincidence, has a despicable leader with a WHOLE lot of oil that Exxon and BP would just (have poor, low-middle, and middle-class 18-20something year old’s) DIE to have while certain cable and network TV channels provide lip service as to the appropriateness of such an endeavor while taking money for those good commercials that said companies bring us, all the while bemoaning ANY attempts to actually provide such support in the form of their taxes to pay for the supplies that the poor, low-middle, and middle-class 18-20something year old’s need to 1) combat the terrorists that were GLADLY supplied their money by the oil-laden middle easterners that got their money from selling TONS of oil to ignorant and/or repugnant chickenhawks to drive their “support the troops”-yellow-ribbon-clad 12 mpg SUV’s, and 2) pay for their healthcare when they return physically and mentally shot-up.
-When asked what they think of a person who at any particular time may be classified as poor, homeless, laid off, uninsured, foreclosed, fixed-income, automatically assert that the person MUST be a lazy uneducated low-life, which lets their mind continue to float in a lake of bliss while ignoring the many exogenous, by-little-to-no-fault-of-their-own variables which might have led one at any particular time to become poor, homeless, laid off, uninsured, foreclosed, or fixed-incomed. However, IF or UNTIL such time ever stumbles their way, then its all “WOE IS ME, look at all of my bad luck! Who knew this might ever happen to such a hard workin’, librul-hatin-therefore-jesus-lovin’ redblooded ‘murkin!” At which time their fellow republicans automatically deem them to be lazy uneducated low-life.
-Think that the only prerequisites to being good Christians are 1) hate gays, 2) vote pro-life, 3) believe that those blacks and native-americans should just “get-over” the 300-400 years of persecution, slavery, you-name-it because liberals were able to pass” a law in ’64 to give those who ain’t got a little more” (apologies to Bruce Hornsby), and 4) ignore the 70% of the new testament teachings that teach compassion for the poor, sick, and lame, the 10% that talks about being humble in the Lord, the 10% that says “Fear not, for I am with you”, and the 10% that talks about having a spine and not whining “PERSECUTION!” every time someone talks about wearing a burka to a public school.
