Amy Goodman gave a terrific speech here last night.
Her usual droll style of presenting the news was nowhere in sight. She delivered a tremendous punch for a tiny woman. Her insightful comments and tales of heroic exploits by everyday Americans were punctuated by hilarious comments and asides that had the audience alternately laughing and applauding. She is truly a gem and an American hero for her courageous insistence on getting the REAL news behind the faux news that is spewed forth daily by the corporate media.

Amy and her brother David have written a new book, "Stand Up to the Madness", from which she used numerous excerpts. I bought it but have not yet read it.

If you have not seen Amy in person, I urge you to do so. She's totally enlightening, entertaining, and inspiring.

And please support Democracy Now. It's one of the few sources of factual reporting that we have access to in America.

She is great in person. I saw her a few years ago, and it was as you described.
