Help! I need some computer help!
I couldn't find a computer forum, so I hope this is okay.
I can watch the political videos but there is no sound..!!
I get music with iTunes and Rhapsody, and I get sound if I have a CD or DVD in the slide.
But no system sounds and no youtube sound.
I've been trying everything I know of to correct this, all to no avail.
Can anyone send me some thoughts or methods on how to fix this?
I am almost ready to reinstall Windoze.
ARRAUGH!
Thanks, DUers :)

1. Did you check the sound level on the individual videos
at youtube?

Because that happened to me once, and I realized the little sound icon was set at "mute" for some reason.

I hope your solution is this simple.

Good luck ...................

Edited on Thu Apr-09-09 07:12 PM by Jackeens
...on the YouTube/DU Political videos? ie on the volume control second from the right on the bottom of the DU videos, third from the bottom right on YouTube?

7. Double click the little 'speaker' in your taskbar and make sure none of the sources
especially 'wave' have a check mark in the "mute" box.

9. That should be NO CHECK in the "Mute" box
Also, make sure they're all turned up.

If that isn't the problem, try rebooting.

If that isn't the problem, visit the Computer Forum. It's under DU Groups, Personal Interests.

Good luck. Sound problems suck.

17. Well, sorry I don't have any more ideas...but I really don't think it's a 'windoze' issue.
However it SHOULD not mess you up if you do a reinstall but doing it is IMO pretty drastic. Here's one more thing you could try: do a search for some .wav files on your machine and try to open some of them and see if you hear the audio. If they play it's pretty safe to assume your sound system is okay and the problem is most likely in your browser. (I think)
:-)

If not, go to Options/Properties and check it...
