My God I just learned something major on Ed's new show!

Something called Lars Larson just complained that Obama's call for a world without nuclear missiles is a terrible idea for Americans because then only the Chinese and Iranians would have nuclear missiles. Sure Iranians don't actually have nuclear weapons yet, but even more important doesn't this mean that gasp... THE CHINESE AND IRANIANS ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD! How else could they still have these weapons if Obama achieved what he sought? Even more disturbing is somehow this fact has only previously been known by Lars Larson. Thank God Ed finally got his own show to give us things like a platform to listen to what is the genius of Lars Larson.

2. i think Ed's producers are making a real effort to present wingnut views...

Ed's 'regular guy' approach (schtick or not) counters these guys on all fronts....it may take a while for Ed to get settled in, but i think M$NBC wants ratings, and has decided a left (generally) attack dog might just be the ticket...

you gotta admit, Ed seems better informed and more in touch with regular Americans that his counterparts on Faux, who mainly have the rabid right (who are, above most all else, LOYAL to their messengers) totally generating their numbers...

maybe an inroad, maybe not....but definitely one of the two...

I can see what he's trying to do, but Frankly I have no interest in seeing Lars Larson ever on my TV. Even if it's only to show me how horribly informed they are. Ed would probably be better off not doing he said/ she said stuff on his show. Lord knows we have enough of that already. I'd rather Ed just rant for hour.

The few snippets I caught of the show an hour ago put me off because they were clearly going for a Hardball-type show rather than Keith/Rachel one-on-one/editorializing format. At least, the part I saw.

I can understand why they'd do that, though, (especially if Matthews does in fact run for office and leaves Hardball, and they already have Keith/Rachel in the nicer format) but the last thing I want is to see another show with a bunch of people on screen yelling at each other--especially since the insane right wingers always yell the loudest and most annoyingly.

Another interesting fact implied by Lars Larson is that Obama only means the first thing he says and not the second. Thus if Obama chastises Americans for being anti-European and then says Europeans need to stop being anti-American as well... he only means the first part and the rest of the world knows Obama always lies after telling a truth and thus cheered because Obama secretly wants them to hate America.

Do we really need 40 lights that flash in microseconds and silly ten-second sound bytes to compete with the right wing? If you contribute to stupidity, they win. They need an idiotic populace. One can be simple without erasing the powers of thought and concentration.

I never listened to his radio show, but I'm guessing it went over better because it was just his voice (and his guests) and not all of this other crap.

I assume he's not going to change. So, they need to get a brilliant set designer to give a back-to-basics, comforting, John-Mellencamp video sort of look to the whole thing that connects with people viscerally. All this is doing is connecting to people's inner ADHD. He needs to do his show from a bus tour or something, from manufacturing plants and diners and small offices and even bars.

GET RID OF THE FLASHING RED LIGHTS! It's worse than Univision's gong show. Ugh.

...or does the contrast between the "just say the opposite" right-wingers and "normal people" serve to make the right-wing knuckledraggers look even more stupid? I do know that Ed's target audience likes him because he does use the typical "blue collar" right-wing types to contrast his message against. Any time I have to listen to a right-wing moron is wasted time though, so Ed's show is irritating to me.
