Or does Wal-Mart universally discourage solicitation of any kind?

It would be great if someone had any recollection.

2. No idea if it helps you but I've never seen it...
but to be honest I have not seen military recruiters live in person anywhere for several years.

4. Don't know if this will help,
but this article about the suicide of recruiters mentions that the wife of a recruiter (on a message board) said her husband was headed for a Walmart to look for recruits--top of page 2.

The article is worth reading--originally posted by easttexaslefty a few days ago.

6. Oh yes!
That helps more than you think.

Isn't it great when something takes you in a better direction than you may ever have thought of going in yourself?

You just did that. Thank you!

Brilliant!

8. here's my story - recruiters cornering kids INSIDE walmart ->
was in one several years ago. two very young marine guys had several kids (like 15 yrs old or so) cornered in the music department, literally standing so as to prevent these kids from exiting. the marines were trying to get the kids to give up personal information like name phone etc. I stood close by and finally told those boys they did not have to give any information and they could walk off if they wanted....which they did. the marine recruitors gave me dirty looks but said nothing. Later I complained to store management who asked those guys to leave. Setting up an information table in front of a store is a legitimate method. cornering and intimidating underage boys who do not want to be cornered is not.

10. Well done.
That would piss me off too. I'd probably not have been quite as well-measured, but tactful nonetheless.

Did you ever see an information table in front of a Wal-Mart?

13. never seen a recruiter, but the marines are out for "toys for tots" each christmas...
and all of the cashiers have a small line-up of toys >$10 that they would ask if you wanted participate, so the store is definately in on the solicitation.

16. They are in my local mall here in NC
This mall is also across the street from a high school, and the recruiters go around talking to kids working in the mall and also customers.

I know it is not Walmart, but just thought I would mention it just in case it was helpful at all.
