I can't quite place it, but his voice reminds me of someone. And the show is boring.

1. Well, Keith had a funeral to go to today.
His mom died.

3. I wondered if that was the deal. Of course he deserves a couple weeks off for that.

7. From the intro, it sounded like he only intends to take a day or two.
I hope Keith is taking care of himself.

Hey! Did you get your license?

2. I hate the way they mic it
It seems like the sound people are rank amateurs. I don't think the show has to be bad, but because of the sound, it makes Schultz and the guests seem distant rather than close. The lost sense of immediacy doesn't work well in the cable news format IMO and they really need to clean it up.

I do like the look of the show, but Schultz is not the natural in front of the camera that Ms Maddow, for example, is.

4. I think Thom Hartmann or Phil Donahue would have been better
than Ed, but what the hell. At least it's not Fox or CNN crap.

6. I like the "Psychotalk" segment. I think Beck and the other crazies
need to be called out.

5. He Sounds Too Much Like Rushbo
Ed is definitely not on the same plain as Keith or Rachel, but that's not his prime audience. He's going for the moderates and independents out there...call it a "half-way house".

The constant moving around of the cameras is what bothers me...its too busy and gets very distracting.

8. His guests seem like retreads. Everything people hate.
I don't know who's responsible for bringing guests on, but what I saw earlier (it may actually have been yesterday's show) was something I didn't like. Unwatchable yelling. Sort of Cross Fire-ish.

9. I've enjoyed it.
He's got a great working class perspective. I find him refreshing. While he may not be every liberal/progressive's cup of tea, he's going to do well with the working class that has a more conservative social bent. Don't write this guy off...I think he could bring in lots of new viewers that traditionally have not been MSNBC viewers.

12. I don't like Ed. He reminds me of Rush. That is probably who you are thinking of HOWEVER
I have been fair and have watched his show. It isn't horrible--and he has brought up a few valid points.
I'm not entirely ready to write the show off completely--inasmuch that I really was not at all pleased he was given a national microphone.

14. The two things that bother me the most about his show are:
1. He doesn't really pay attention to where the camera is. I understand that it is going to take a bit for him to get his tv legs transitioning from radio, but I don't need him to turn around to read his screen. The back of is head is not interesting at all.

2. I don't like the way he's always referring to himself. "I'm this kind of guy." "I'm that kind of guy." I know that he does that on his radio show, but it turns me off. Talk about the news that's important to you. That will tell me what kind of guy you are. Show don't tell.

I haven't watched it much to make more observations. I don't usually turn on the television until Keith's show.

15. monkey-poo flinging
when it comes time for "opposing" view points - I flip the channel. NOT because I don't want to hear opposing views - but because it's just monkey-poo flinging, talking over each other, interrupting each other and a recital of talking points

I've tried watching it all week - even "record" it so I can skip over the monkey-poo circle. Doesn't impress me.

what it looks like is an attempt to take his radio show and add visuals to it. Not working. Ed and his producers need to revamp the whole show format, and I hate to say it - but Ed is coming across as Rush on the left
