So the MSNBC guy is talking to a firefighter in OK about those fires and breaks away
to go to the car chase in California!

Good grief. Some media, eh? Oh we're sorry about your fires but we think our viewers will be more interested in this car chase!!

1. Remember in 2005 when newsmedia keyed on Natalee Holloway over the approaching cat 5 hurricane?
Gee - wonder if more people would have evacuated sooner with proper focus from newsmedia.

2. The car chase is regarded as "perishable" to the news putzes.
It's a story that's more likely to have a quick ending.

Fires can go on for days, and there's always "the aftermath" that can be milked.

Once the guy in the car crashes or gets arrested, that's that. It's not as much "fun" when you know the outcome.
