Kenton Co. Sheriff Spreads Easter Cheer
(KY)
At St. Elizabeth South in Edgewood, there are kids in the Pediatric Unit who won't be home this year to celebrate Easter, but someone is bring Easter to them.
Kenton County Sheriff Chuck Korzenborn and his staff will be at the hospital once again on Saturday dressed as the Easter Bunny.
The bunny brings treats to both the Pediatric Unit and the Birthing Center at St. Elizabeth South.
Sheriff Korzenborn has been doing this for four years, and, as he puts it, it's a chance to bring happiness on a special weekend for many people.
"There's a couple by the name of Minor in Florida who started this program in Florida for Sheriff's. What they did, they supplied a real nice attractive suit, all of the toys now in our local community. Papas candy has supplied all of the candy. This is some way of giving back to the community. This couple is well off. They don't have any children, and decided, since it worked so well in Florida, they did it all over the country," explained Sheriff Korzenborn.
