I used to like Woody Harrelson when he was on Cheers
Now, I think the man is batsh*t crazy.

Woody Harrelson claims he mistook photographer for zombie

(CNN) -- Woody Harrelson defended his clash with a photographer at a New York airport Wednesday night as a case of mistaken identity -- he says he mistook the cameraman for a zombie.

The TMZ photographer filed a complaint with police claiming the actor damaged his camera and pushed him in the face at La Guardia Airport, according to an airport spokesman.

"I wrapped a movie called 'Zombieland,' in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character," Harrelson said in a statement issued Friday by his publicist.

"With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie," he said.

My comment: quite understandably mistook him for a zombie? I don't understand that at all.

1. It was a joke -
and Harrelson's disdain for the paparazzi is well-known.

Sorry, but having "character defects" like that are hardly a disqualification for being a Republican. After all, they all seeem to require at least one thing to be hypocritical about.

:)

on edit: whoops. This was supposed to be in response to the "I don't think he is (a Republican)" post.

16. Hmmm, the last stunt I remember him pulling...
...when he got arrested, was when he and some other people climbed up onto the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge and unfurled some banners. Environmental, I think, or it might have been Greenpeace... not sure, don't remember the details.

But I think it's safe to say he is not a Republican. :-)

23. Hell no, Woody Harrelson is a progressive activist.
Seriously read up on the guy, he has been involved in all kinds of great causes. He is one of the best when it comes to politics, and I have a lot of admiration for the guy. I don't know about the story that was posted in the OP, it certainly sounds crazy but I don't trust CNN to give an accurate retelling of the events. I suspect the statement about the zombie was a joke, CNN is not exactly known for great journalism.

18. Cute, but that wasn't exactly a run of the mill zombie movie, was it?
Based on the classic "The Omega Man".

I'm just having fun. You're generally right, but only because most "zombie movies" are B-movies.

20. Look at imdb.com. Harrelson was in 6 movies in 2008, 5 in 2009.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000437/

I am guessing these are not starring roles, but evidently he is at least working. When you think of it, how many actors have a big career that lasts a career?

21. Based on Richard Matheson's classic novel, 'I am Legend'.

Sorry, but the movies missed the point entirely. They just exploited the vampire/zombie theme.

edit to add: That doesn't mean they sren't entertaining, :) I grew up on OM and enjoyed the recent Woll Smoth. I just hope someone does justice to the very complicated themes of the original book.

7. As a person who thinks running over the Paparazzo should lead to a -1 point on your license
I'm all for Woody. In other words, I'm all for them being hit by cars for sport.

8. That's his sensayuma
although it was little hard on the photographer. I can well understand the frustration of public figures with paparazzi intruding whenever they're outside their homes, and sometimes inside.

He's the only actor out there who could have pulled a portrayal of Larry Flynt off.
