6. So Obama resorts to violence just as much as Republicans?
This could have ended without loss of life.

Again, peace takes a backseat to violence.

12. Get a grip ....
Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 03:41 PM by Trajan
Law enforcement forces have no obligation to place the lives of innocent human beings in danger so that criminals can have a better chance for survival ....

I am a pacifist by nature, but I am no fool .... You don't coddle those with poisonous thorns ....

I am appalled by those who would cater to the needs of base criminals, even for the sake of 'peace' ....

Some people don't deserve 'peace' ....

13. BS. You don't know that it could have ended without loss of life.
The pirates had shot at the captain once before. This shit has got to stop, and being nice to scumbags with AK-47s and RPGs is not the way to stop it.

14. Could it? Really?
And how would you have handled it differently?

Not that I'm generally in favor of violence, but how, exactly, would you have rescued the hostage from a group of armed pirates without hurting anybody? Monday-morning quarterbacking is easy. Getting the job done isn't, always.

18. We tried to negotiate
But the Pirates refused. I did not want violence to erupt, if only for the fact that a bloodbath could have poured gasoline on Somalian violence, which is already hot as is. However, do not act like we were just itching for a fight. The pirates took a gamble, they gambled with the lives of innocent people, and they lost.

24. how?
What if the pirates were determined to go free or die.

Then what?

How long do you wait?

I dont understand absolute pacifists anymore than absolute libertarians or well absolute anyone.

27. There was no choice
It was not going to end without violence. HEll, the inital act was an act of violence on the pirates' part.

30. Maybe we should have
just paid the $2 million and sent them on their merry pirate way so they they would feel emboldened to do this again. Yeah, that would have worked. :eyes:

Can't play the peace card with people who have no interest in peace. Dream on.

They HATE when Obama does something they said he wouldn't do ....

I am thankful for Obama's resolve, and would mock the FAUX idiots endlessly, if given half a chance ...

Good to see you Stephanie .... I recently visited your PNAC links again ..... They are legendary ...
