pictures are great when making assertions or linking to sites that assert things like Pirates are eco defenders. Oppressed people under the thumb of the west and the real victims.

Great smoter of bullshit.

Yeah cannon makes one too but it is not used all that much by working pros who shoot things that move.

3. I hoped someone would catch that!
:) The f4 was the best 35mm ever made...And so it continues. For those with disposable income..

2. I prefer the shots that were taken of the "eco defenders" in question.

Wait... those aren't cameras.

Meh. Close enough.

11. Yep, precisely. Prolly multiple shooters, too.
I almost bought an early model Barrett, but didn't want to have to drive to Arizona to shoot the damned thing.

14. They said 3 shooters with simultaneous head shot take down
I'm assuming they give a controller a go sign that they've got a shot and that controller then commands the simultaneous takedown.

5. And does so much cheaper
The optics are nearly as good as Nikon's and light years ahead of other manufacturers.

I suppose if I were going to blow things up to more than poster size, I'd use a Nikon.

Canon will work for anything else.

9. They all make GREAT cameras. Good pictures can be taken with any camera.
The still image holds fundamental power over the human mind.

19. It is bizzare the first time you
pay more than you paid for the body for a lens. nikkor 200 - 400 zoom was the first time I did that.

Well worth it.

And it's off-market — a Tokina.

Look at TV footage of any newsworthy event. See the sea of white lenses?

Those are Canon lenses.

10. That was an inside camera joke..
both make an excellent tool for documenting truth.

D3 is (imho) more adept to taking pictures of moving things. But again both make great gear.

23. Your assertion is laughable.
Like the other poster said look at the sideline of any sporting event:

Tennis
Super Bowl
Olympic Skijump
NBA Basketball game

sport = faat motion.

The trademark white Canon lenses are almost exclusive.

For every 100 pro sports photogrpahers there are 90%+ White Canon lenses hooked to pro DSLR bodies.

Nice OP though. Good point but totally off track w/ useless Canon reference.

24. The nikon v cannon point just peps things up..
high iso performance allows higher shutter speed in low light or with those big honking lenses. Without noise...iso 6400 with no noise is pretty cool. They do take a beating.

But they both make great cameras. Whichever you own lenses for is the best body. The bodies are disposable anyway.

BTW you can get an f5 for next to nothing now. Arguably the best working body in the world. Want to shoot a war or lions in africa..

However the lenses that you would use are still about the same dollars.

All cut bullshit.

12. As good as all these cameras are
and they are good camera brands (though to be honest, the canon shown is not of the same quality, IMO),
for now, I will stick to the one with a Foveon sensor.

It works like color film works.

It also meters old M42 lenses from the age of glass and metal.
Sigma
SD10, SD14.

For those quick snaps, my little P&S leica D-Lux rawks.

28. That was my first 35mm camera
Well, the AE1-Program, a later improved version.

I had three lenses, a motor drive and a Sunpak flash.

All were stolen in a remote northern town.

I can still imagine holding it.

26. That's why I still lve my Nikon F.
Took great shots with it and it was strong enough ('though heavy) to survive desert heat as well as cold rain and being banged about in various jeeps. Dickie Chapelle carried one in Viet Nam.

Only problem was with the self timer. It worked well enough but if, while struggling through heavy brush and holding camera high to evade damage, one were to accidentally nudge the timer with a finger..... the sound it makes is remarkably like that of a rattle snake.

Does get one's attention.
