On 3/20 appx25 showed up here to remember Soldiers killed inIraq. Tea Bag parties will draw how many
people do you suppose?

I know there's always Memorial Day, but it seems that those who have died in an ONGOING War, that "we" approved of, and which continues to kill dozens every month, should receive special consideration as long as the War IS ongoing.

Do you think any of the media-shills who cover these Tea Bag thingees will ask anyone what they did on March 20th this year?

1. One thing you have to learn.
Rethugs don't care about dead, dying or maimed soldiers. It means nothing to them. A soldiers life is an asset to be used as we see fit. It is disgusting to hear, but that is the truth. The media will not ask the Tea Baggers anything to upset them. In fact the media will more than likely be a Tea Bagger.

2. You remind of a counter-protestor I chatted with several years ago, 2003, I think,

2 of them, actually, one who told me he wasn't going to enlist because he was on his way to his first semester at Princeton. The other one was waiting to hear from 3 or 4 medical schools. They hung around our street-corner group for several weeks and, unlike earlier counter-protestors who blew toy horns and shouted insults whenever we tried to talk to them and then quickly disappeared, these two were friendly enough that we could actually talk to them, so we found out quite a bit about a mindset that you characterize quite acurately, and this is NOT an exaggeration: In God's plan, it is the sole function of some people to be canon fodder, so other people can go on to do the things that they are "supposed" to do, such as lead all of those who can't lead themselves, and earn quite a bit of money doing it, btw.

3. I have a very wealthy friend and she thinks that people enlist knowing
that they will be sent to war, willing to die for 24K a year. Needless to say, our friendship is very strained these days. We have a peace vigil two times a week here. We have changed all of our signs to Support the Troops, Leave no Vet Behind, Peace Now, Troops home Now. You would be surprised at the comments, thumbs down and the ' Get a Life' as the people drive by. Many young men it seems are hungry for conflict. It is all very sad. Peace, Kim

4. We have a lot of military in my family. I am a veteran myself. I know military people hope to live
and see the result of their efforts become manifest in the world. That's why most enlist.

Spectators seem to be into somekind of "sports mentality". After certain sporting events in the area, I've seen Hummers full of drunk young-men from the burbs go by, flip us "the bird", and shout obscenities.

It IS crazy.

5. it's so amusing watching the uninformed protest for something which is
against their own best interests and only serves the benefit of the corporate elite.
