Rush moving to Austin, Tx?
Haaaaaa!!! What a hoot. My first thought was hell no, but then I reconsidered. Having moved to this town in1976, where "Keep Austin Weird" is more than a slogan, where being "casual" means actually wearing clothes, I thought how appropriate. There is not a restaurant, music venue, or any other place in this deep blue country where this man could show his face without being mocked for the fool he is.

It would become great sport for us to track him, hunt him, and mock him at every turn. Sure there are a few red-ers around here, but they are the vast minority. He would literally be a prisoner in his own home while visiting. While he may end up getting a home in Texas, the last place he would be welcomed is Austin.

I love this town!!!

Peace,
MZr7

3. Ah yes, Austin.
Live music capital of the world. There have been so many great artists who based themselves in Austin and who would certainly not welcome limbaugh with open arms. Jerry Jeff Walker, Kim Wilson, Kent "Omar" Dykes, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Lou Ann Barton, the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan the list goes on and on. I wouldn't think that any of these great artists would welcome a no talent bum like limbaugh. And from what I've seen and heard, the rest of the citizenry wouldn't either.

5. As a 20 year resident of Austin before moving to the Frozen North
I'd be interested to see this happen. I don't think Rushbo would recieve a very warm welcome in the bluest part of Texas.

6. Hey! Maybe he could move to Iowa.
Then he could attack the "gay marriage problem" first hand. Or maybe he can just go straight to hell.

9. Neh, Austin-taceous types think they are cosmopolitan & blase so they would NOT
give him a negative response. They would attempt to "give him his space" and whoever did jobs at his estate would be laid back when they casually name dropped, "I did a job for Ol Rush..."

Whether the job was delivering drugs, or that precious Austin carpentry and such.

The Austin types who keep moving there instead of going out into the real world are the ones who voted for Kinky FRIEDMAN and NADIR. Always wanting to *think* they are "enlightened." (But they're not.)
