4. Certainly!
My grandparents lived there in the mid 40's (my Granddaddy ran a textile mill in a town called Bauta (sp?)) and I would love to see the town where they lived.

5. Absolutamente! And before it gets turned into "Cuba Disney" ...
or WalMarted to death. Part of the allure of Cuba (to me
anyway) is the fact that it's been untouched by some of
the negative effects of capitalism run amok.

15. You said it...
Fucking Starbucks, Hard Rock, Cruise Ships, and Thomas Kincaide galleries.

I've seen it happen so many places, it's hard to get away from it and find a simple place to go, unaffected by these.

It's interesting and, like many Carribean countries, lots of poverty.

The diving is great.

14. Go quick.
The diving is cheap too. Cost us $40 US for a two tank dive a couple of years ago.

16. Cuba travel is not impossible right now for US citizens

There are right ways and wrong ways to "do Cuba". NOW is probably the best time.
You can probably qualify to go legally now depending on factors related to what
you do for work. Why wait for Cuba to be overrun with Americans?

17. The RUM, the music, the Hemingway haunts, the tobacco farms
and cigar factories, etc.

Not to mention the geography, the beaches, sailing and snorkeling, and the hiking/biking along the country roads.

Oh Yeah!!

As for legal I'd say it's gray area. I know I wouldn't use my credit card while visiting till all the US travel restrictions are lifted.

26. I haven't flown since 9/11 -- and that was after working for years
to ditch a flying phobia.

But, I want to go to Cuba the next time the CBC goes there. Good cigars, too, mmmm. :)

28. I almost chose"No" because driving classic cars and smoking cigars is
something I do a lot of anyway.,but I chose "Yes" because I've never done so on a Carribean island.

33. Yes. I've enjoyed "Cuban food" here in the States; I'd really like to try it in CUBA.
That's the ONE thing that actually gets me to travel: food.

Sorry, just had to say that.

Canada has allowed travel to Cuba since the early 70s.
