OMFG!!

http://www.hurriyet.com.tr/english/domestic/11417584.asp?scr=1

ISTANBUL - Former U.S. Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert is now lobbying for Turkey, reported Chicago Business.

According to his registration statement with the Justice Department’s Foreign Agents Registration Act Unit, Hastert’s role is "educating members of Congress and the administration on issues, which include trade, energy security, counter-terrorism efforts and the stability in the Middle East, of importance to Turkey."

FBI Director Mueller lies. Political pressure not to indict Hastert in Sibel Edmonds case

4. Well, that should be good for his health,
since turkey's a very lean, low calorie, almost-fat-free meat and so, Incredible Bulk Hastert will probably be feeling and looking a whole lot better.

What?

Wait.

What?

Group seeks FEC investigation of Hastert fund

August 16, 2005

BY DENNIS CONRAD ASSOCIATED PRESS Advertisement

WASHINGTON-- A private group filed a complaint Tuesday urging federal election officials to investigate whether House Speaker Dennis Hastert's campaign fund illegally accepted contributions from foreigners.

The complaint from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Government relied on an article published in the September issue of Vanity Fair to argue the Federal Election Commission should pursue the matter.

The group, whose executive director, Melanie Sloan, is a former federal prosecutor and counsel to House Democrats, suggested that the Illinois Republican's campaign fund could have received hundreds of unitemized contributions of $200 or less from foreigners in 2000 and 2001 because Hastert raised so much money in small amounts.

Here's a link to the interview thread! It is a MUST read!

I just posted this to LBN and it looks to be quickly already on the greatest page right now. She really points a lot of fingers in this interview, perhaps moreso (even though tactfully still trying not to be too specific) than the Vanity Fair article...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1702215

There's really a lot of fuel here for discussions! Let's try and put our responses in the LBN forum though. It is still important to discuss for a wide audience, as Sibel herself notes in this interview!

I've tried my best this weekend (I'm still in Dallas now), to spread her story amongst other fellow classmates that went to school with me here in Turkey. A lot of interest there from those I talked to in reading more on her issues, even though the Vanity Fair article we discussed had a lot of potential controversial impact on Turkish American relations, which Sibel herself feels bad about from some statements in this interview. That makes me impressed with her that much more. I've seen so many people take extreme sides one way or the other on the Armenian question, and rarely find people that try to not be overly opinionated on it and try to look for the truth about it without people corrupting the message. That's where she is and that's where I am on that question!

But I'm still *far* from getting the 50% ratio of people I first talk to knowing who Sibel Edmonds is. Until we at least get that ratio I think we still have a *lot* of work to help get her story out.

FBI Reveals Investigation Continues
The Vindication of Sibel Edmonds
By JOHN STANTON

On October 10, 2006, FBI spokesman Bill Carter confirmed that matters raised by Sibel Edmonds and shielded form public view by the invocation of the US States Secret privilege were still under internal investigation by the Bureau.

"Due to the fact that the allegations of Sibel Edmonds reflect internal administrative and investigative matters it would not be appropriate to respond to your inquiry. I will point out that the DOJ Office of the Inspector General has reviewed this matter and released a public report. I would refer this report to you for your review. The Inspector General's report concluded that the FBI did not adequately investigate allegations Ms. Edmonds made regarding a co-worker. After the OIG's initial classified report, the FBI conducted further investigation into Ms. Edmonds' allegations. That investigation is continuing."*

Back in March of 2002, Edmonds was released from the FBI over her discovery of an array of espionage activities. Looking back, and with the benefit of new information from the FBI and elsewhere, it appears that the government of Turkey was spectacularly successfully in compromising FBI, CIA, DEA, DIA and DOS operations, and was also able to mount other espionage programs that allowed Turkish interests to obtain assorted military and WMD technology know-how, and garner US and Israeli military support for its bloody internal struggle against its significant and much maligned Kurdish population/opposition.

The Turks: Masters of Espionage

The Turks would not have been successful in staging what may be recorded as one of history's finest intelligence coups had it not been for many sympathetic US military personnel, bureaucrats and politicians who, whatever their egotistical reasons, believed themselves to be acting in the USA's best interests. Certainly, no one can accuse them of not effectively representing their powerful Turkish clients whether in defeating US Congressional action recognizing the Armenian Genocide or ensuring that US corporations close lucrative deals in Turkey.

The sympathizers names are now overly familiar: Douglas Feith, Brent Scowcroft, William Cohen, Richard Perle, Michael Leeden, Bob Livingston, Marc Grossman, Paul Wolfowitz, Eric Edelman, Richard Armitage, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Dennis Hastert, et al. Rather than re-hash their affiliations and track records here, visit rightweb.irc-online.org to find out more about their linkages to each other and Turkey (Israel too).
