FWIW: if you are filing your taxes tomorrow by mail, make sure
your Post Office is going to be open late. Many PO's have been cut back on their funds and will not be open. Call to make sure.

1. That's too bad - I thought the 11:59 pm curb-side drop-off was a tradition
on par with July 4th, the Super Bowl, and back-to-school pictures in the driveway...

3. All my back-to-school pictures are in the same three places:
1. backyard by the big tree
2. the fireplace
3. the driveway

You can see how tall I got over the years, and how the tree had changed.

Oh, traditions...

5. Ours are all in the front of the house, and whenever we look at them the
conversation is all about the plants or the funny old car we used to own or the color of the rain-gutters. The cute kids are just in the way.

Halloween pictures are all in front of the fireplace... :)

7. It's a tradition that died.
Now we have Teabagging Day, the Final Four and sexting under the desk.

4. I ALWAYS used to mail my tax returns on April 16th.
Originally my little form of meaningless protest against Vietnam. Later, it just became a habit. After nearly 50 years of doing that the IRS never said a thing. I don't think they ever noticed. These days the returns are shipped off to India to be processed, and I doubt anyone EVER looks at the postmark.

This year, like last year, my income was below the minimum for needing to file. I do love being retired and off the grid.

6. Not sure, but I think if you don't owe anything, it doesn;;t mattrt.
If they owe you $$, what % of anything are they going to penalize you on?
