We have to look to Spain to get justice. The US is incapable of policing itself.

Put the crooks in jail.

I was asked to go on Hardball on Tuesday night to discuss the news that Spanish prosecutors are likely to recommend a full investigation be conducted to determine if six former Bush administration officials—including ex-Attorney General Alberto Gonzales—ought to be indicted for having sanctioned torture at Guantanamo. So I thought I'd ask White House press secretary Robert Gibbs about the matter.

The president and his aides do not seem eager to investigate the alleged misdeeds of the Bush-Cheney administration.

1. It's Politically Impossible...
Our government is too compromised...too politicized to ever demand a do more than make noise. Sadly, our judicial system and the justice department are heavily conflicted as well. The war crimes of the boooosh regime are not only a crime against the American people (and yes, we should be outraged that they've gotten away with their crimes), but it's a crime against the world and humanity.

I welcome the Spanish court inquiry and hope this gets the ball rolling on an international tribunal...one not compromised by politics and money that our system, sadly, can't deal with.

2. I hope Spain pushes forward with this, because we know
our government will not sadly.
