13. You can't possibility be serious. Just because they are
wrong doesn't mean the don't have the right to protest and throwing some stupid tea bags on the WH lawn isn't much cause for arrest. Arresting them would be an over reaction and would just lead to more publicity and maybe even sympathy for the stupid RW protesters. My guess is your response was a gut reaction to someone you don't agree with and ideas you don't like. Now that you've had time to think about it I'm sure you'll agree with me.

Or maybe she simply thinks that Civil Disobedience aught not be ineffectual and petulant in both form and function... right or wrong.

33. The fact that it received national TV coverage shows it
was as least somewhat effective.

I thing everyone is taking this much too seriously. As a society we have developed the penchant for taking everything (especially where enforcement of minor laws are concerned) way too seriously, much to our determent. Yes the SS should have checked the package of teabags with their cute little robot and removed them but that was all that was necessary. No harm, no foul. To their credit, I didn't hear of any arrests.

6. Disgusting, disrespectful, and treasonous.
This is exactly what the wingnuts would say if a liberal protestor did this while Bush was in office.

12. So is the media going to slam the righties when they do this shit
like they do the lefties? Seems to me the media always lets the RW off the hook but always slams the left for any act of protest!

Because that's what I usually get.

22. I recall a lot of republicans stating that the President should ALWAYS be shown respect.
I did not realize that they meant ALWAYS until the republican's term is over.

:eyes:

How classy it is to throw things over the fence.

30. I do not think the Presidency commands blind loyalty.
But i do feel that there are legitimate reasons that throwing things onto the WH property is unacceptable. The least of which is security.

I stood outside those same gates to protest bush. I did not, and did not see anyone else, throw things on WH property.

My issue was more with the unapologetic hypocrisy.
