$10/month ATT DSL if anyone is interested

http://www.bellsouth.com/consumer/in...plans_pop.html

This plan was ordered by the US congress to be made available to people because of some shit that ATT did. It is like a punishment/repayment type thing. Anyway it is available to be offered in certain states for about another year and a half. But I have been told that it is just about impossible to get. There are certain rules that apply.
New orders only. 12 month committment.
Online orders only - can not be got by calling ATT.

That last one is the kicker since they make it so hard to find and also I am told that it ends in a dead end when trying to get this offer thru the net.

So if anyone wants to try and get it I hope you succeed. It may help to call your congressman and get their help to get this offer.

Here are more links

The best way to find the offer is to ask about it in the upper right hand corner here. ($10 att dsl high speed offer?)

Like I said it may help for you to call your congressional Rep and have them get in touch with ATT to get this offer. The thing is that it is hard to find on ATT's website and if you do find the offer, the site kind of dead ends and a person can never find the site that validates that they have succeeded in the application process. So give it a try if you want better than dial-up at a low price.

1. I got it! It does end in a dead end, so I called ATT and told them I wanted it
The agent had to look it up, and then told me it was internet only. I told her that it would not process through the internet so they signed me up.

You have to work for it, for sure. And I'm constantly bombarded with phone and mails for upgrades and TV. Telling them I don't watch TV is always interesting, you can tell it blows their circuits for a few minutes to comprehend that some people don't watch TV.

3. After the way that AT&T totally destroyed a well-run cable internet service...
....when they bought out MediaOne, I wouldn't sign up with them again if it meant I'd have to go back to dial-up.
