1. I find this interesting because
Ratzenberger is a good friend of my cousin who is an actor, writer, and an avowed socialist.

4. Which means he gets along with people regardless of their politics
He's not a red-faced screamer. He's a rich guy & he doesn't want to pay more in taxes. He's just another one of bunches of Hollywood conservatives disproving the bullshit about "Hollywood liberalism".

2. I think Cliffy Claven should be the tea baggers mascot. Very fitting.

3. You ever notice some guys are one hit wonders
They play a role and then never get a decent gig after that. Seems like the role they play is probably not much acting, just being themselves. So in John's case, maybe he really is a Cliffie!

5. He got tons of parts- as voiceovers in Pixar movies
He was the pig in "Toy Story", the truck in "Cars", the "Abominal Snowman" in "Monsters, Inc.".

There was even a gag about him voicing all those characters in "Cars" -"it's all the same guy! What a ripoff!"

6. Actually he's done a lot of voice work for Pixar
A quick Google shows he's been in all the Pixar films.

# Hamm the Piggy Bank in Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999) and Toy Story 3 (2010)
# P.T. Flea, the Circus Ring Leader in A Bug's Life (1998)
# The Abominable Snowman in Monsters, Inc. (2001)
# School of Silver Fish in Finding Nemo (2003)
# The Underminer in The Incredibles (2004)
# Mack the tractor-trailer and the Hamm Centercut car in Cars (2006) and Cars 2 (2011)
# Mustafa the Waiter in Ratatouille (2007)
# John in WALL-E (2008)

His Wiki page mentions a lot of other work, in and out of show business he's done (including owning a green business). I seriously doubt success just fell into his lap, W-style. It's possible for grown ups to disagree about politics without getting all pissy.

8. Not a fan of his politics, but he does't seem to have trouble
finding work. A quick peek at IMDB shows about 50 gigs since Cheers, including basically every Pixar release.
