Guess irony is not dead. I also wonder if these folks had any local law enforcement helping to ensure the peace. Again, all paid for with our tax dollars!

In the greatest irony of all, it turns out that a lot of these were planned, financed, and organized by Dick Armey's Freedom Corp, which just so happens to lobby for an represent such paragons of populism as AIG, Merril-Lynch and UBS!

So the anti-tax, anti-bailout, anti-spending protests were planned, organized and financed by a corporation that received the bail-outs these very people were demonstrating against. Orwell must be rolling in his grave, while Goebbels chuckles in his.

Personally, I won't truly be satisfied until one of these idiot wingnuts douses themselves with gasoline and lights themselves on fire...not faking it like Glen Beck...but, in the immortal words of Murtoch in Lethal Weapons; "don't just nibble on the barrell...PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER!!"

3. All of our peace vigils are held on public sidewalks.
Where else would you hold them, if not on public property. The anti- surge protest of 500,000 was held on the Mall and that too is public property. Peace, Kim

5. The difference is that we embrace public institutions
as a necessary part of society. They deride THEIR tax dollars being used to support public places like parks as "socialism". That is until THEY want to use these public institutions and places. People on the left have respect for commonly held places and institutions that serve the common good as a part of our belief system. It is about their hypocritical views. It's socialism until THEY need it, then it is fine, but evil socialism again when peace protesters use the same facility.

8. It's like Gov Good Hair
in Texas calling for seccession out of his ass, while asking for Hurricane, flooding, and storm relief, and border control out of his mouth.

I think the country would be a hell of a lot better off is we just let Texas go. Let's move all their military bases to VA, NC and New Mexico.

And for Texas DU'er's??? Get rid of the wing-nuts and then let's talk.

4. Was a public park here
in Lexington, Ky, downtown (and not a big park). I was thinking this morning that these jack-asses should have rented out Rupp Arena if they were going to be "self-supporting" and not living off other people's tax money. Of course comparing their crowd to a crowd at a basketball game, even in this red state, doesn't make them look like much of a movement.

6. They don't see it that way, I'm sure. They are all hypocrites, you can't be a Republican
without being a hypocrite, it's mandatory.

The people who gathered yesterday only show their ignorance. The majority of them are paying less in taxes this year under Obama than they were last year under Bush. Perhaps they'd like to go back to Bush's plan?

They don't want money spent to stimulate the economy, but they all want jobs and good roads and parks to protest in...they just don't want THEIR money going to support those things. Talk about a HUGE disconnect. Really, if most of them lost another 1% of their brain function, their bodily functions would likely quit. Hatred does cruel things to a person's body.

I imagine most of them don't like having a black man in the White House, if they truth be known. And to avoid being confronted for their bigotry and hatred, they've whipped up this bullshit excuse to protest. The fact is, most are keeping more of their money today than they did under Bush, and the intelligent black man is going to make things better for them than the dumb ass idiot white man who preceded him. But they just can't deal with the skin color thing. Pathetic.

9. well, libertarians haven't been "returning" their money to IndyMac's board
I mean, the FDIC is wicked and lets fools live (in the phrasing of Heinlein, the greatest philosopher, psychologist, historian, scientist of inevitable natural law, and economist since William Graham Sumner, Ayn Rand, Herbert Spencer, George Fitzhugh, William Hurrell Mallock, or A.E. van Vogt)
if people didn't want to risk their money, they shouldn't have put it in a bank!

10. All anger, no reason...
Among the participants. The planners' logic is reptilian at best, bacterial at worst.

I hope the Secret Service ends up with a particapant list, and that the FBI, IRS, and SEC have lists of the playas.....
