Asian Spices Sicken 33 People
Salmonella Suspected In Lian How, Uncle Chen Sauces

Union International Food Co. expanded a spice recall to include all Lian How brand and Uncle Chen brand sauces, oil and oil blends in various size packages because the products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

1. I think I might have a bottle of chili sauce at home.
I've had it a couple times and it was great. I bought it at Whole Foods.

2. So, what are the chances any or some of these ingredients show up the next time I get take-out?

4. That's quite a list...but
lets remember that food recalls in the US are also fairly common.

This isn't necessarily the greedy-assed Chinese intentionally selling shoddy-assed products.
